Joseph Vullo, 87, of Edison, and longtime resident of Cliffwood Beach passed away Saturday January 11, 2020 at Haven Hospice of JFK Medical Center of Edison.
Joseph was born and raised in Jamestown, New York.
He went on to graduate high school and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1952 to 1955.
For many years Joseph was the owner of Joe's Radio and TV Service in Cliffwood Beach.
Joseph was known to be a very kind, caring and soft-spoken individual who worked hard, loved his family and spent most of his time at home or driving out to Pennsylvania to spend time at the camper with his family.
He loved wood working and the idea of building things with your own hands.
Joseph loved to read books, specifically focused on psychology, self-help, and living a positive and healthy life. He believed in helping yourself to become a better individual for yourself and your family.
He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Margaret Vullo and sisters Josephine Kelly and Michelina (Mickey) Mazzone.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ann (O'Shaughnessy) Vullo; his children Mary Jo Kurinzi and her husband Vincent of Spotswood, Joseph Vullo of Imperial Beach, California, Eileen Keich of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, Christopher Vullo and his wife Laura of National City, California, Michael Vullo of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, and a sister Margaret (Peggy) Eades.
Joseph also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren Alexander Kurinzi, Joseph, Krystal, Laura Ann and Stephen Vullo as well as David Keich; and three great-grandchildren Samantha Vullo, Brian Hucke and Rayvin Richards.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for Joseph on Monday January 20, 2020, from 4-8pm at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 and also Tuesday at 9 AM at the funeral home prior to a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church of Laurence Harbor.
Burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery of Wrightstown, New Jersey located at 350 Provinceline Rd. Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562.
