Joseph M. Augello, age 99, of Toms River, New Jersey, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was about one month shy of his 100th birthday. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 31, 1919. Joseph was married to his devoted wife of seventy-three years, Lee, and the two raised two wonderful sons together. Joseph was a Banker for JPM Chase in New York, upon his retirement. He loved music, and he was a member of the Musicians Union for 50 years. Joseph also played in the USO for the duration of WWII. He enjoyed playing the base fiddle professionally, as well as the guitar, banjo, and the ukulele. Joseph was a true music professional as he taught guitar to people of all ages and abilities. Above all else, he loved his family as he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Lee (Campo) Augello of Toms River, NJ; his two sons: Cosmo Augello and his wife, Joanne of Hazlet. NJ; Vito Augello of Toms River, NJ; his two cherished grandchildren: Lauren Goldberg and her husband, Zack; Michael Augello and his wife, Amanda; and his three precious great-grandchildren: Sophie Grace, Mia Grace, and Mackenzie Jo. Joseph will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts.
