John F. Smith

John F. Smith, 63, of Keyport, passed away, Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at home.  He was born in Virginia.  He resided in Sayreville prior to settling in Keyport.  John retired in September 2014, as a postal worker with the Edison Postal Facility bulk mail.  He loved to build model cars, planes and boats; and also enjoyed fishing.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.

John was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Jean Smith.   He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann (Dickinson) Smith; his loving children, Amy Preston and her husband Scott of Millstone; Dana Ebbighausen and her husband Ray of Sayreville and Adam Smith and his fiancee, Tara Nemeth of Neptune; his stepchildren, Kevin Bulatowicz, John Bulatowicz and Stan Bulatowicz and his wife Carrie; a brother, Edwin Smith of Florida; a sister, Helen Samuels of Manahawkin; eight cherished grandchildren, Hailey Crimmins, Christopher Preston, Aidan Ebbighausen, Logan Ebbighausen, Julia Cloud, Gregory Bulatowicz, Charles Bulatowicz and Arron Bulatowicz and two precious great grandchildren, Sophie Cloud and Rylee Bulatowicz.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2017, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Friday, October 20, 2017, 10AM, with a 10:30  AM service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Iselin.  You may post a condolence to the family or obtain directions to the funeral home at the website www.dayfuneralhome.com.
