John Borowski Jr.

John Borowski, "Poppy", passed away Friday, April 6th, peacefully at his home of 40 years surrounded by his family. 

Poppy was originally from Jersey City and he met his wife, Marie Panella, while working at Western Electric. They moved to Monmouth County living in Aberdeen and Hazlet before settling in Holmdel. He worked as a manager at AT&T and later, Lucent Technologies before retiring in 2001. He spent his golden years tending to his yard, cooking and helping raise his grandchildren.

Poppy is predeceased by his parents, his wife Marie, his brother Robert and his sister Paula. He is survived by his 2 children: Joann Farrell and John J. Borowski, both of Holmdel and their spouses; 4 grandchildren: Samantha, Katelin and Connor Farrell and John E. Borowski; as well as his sister, Barbara Meier of Denton, Texas and numerous brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews. Rest in peace Poppy.

Visitation will take place Monday, April 9, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735.   A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday April 10, 2018, 8:30AM at the funeral home with 9:30AM mass at Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
