Joanne (Levito) Egan

Joanne (Levito) Egan, 75, of Aberdeen, passed away, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at home.   Her parents were originally from Italy and immigrated to the United States before Joanne was born.  She was the first generation American family member born in Jersey City.  She was a graduate of St. Dominick’s High School.  She worked as a waitress prior to her employment as an office manager with Stadium Marine, Jersey City.  She also worked in the rectory for St. Aden’s Church.  Joanne was a simple woman who loved her family.  She enjoyed gardening, as well as cats and dogs. 

Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Roderick and Mary (Scalia) Levito.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald T. Egan; a loving son, Sean Egan and his wife Zabrina of Aberdeen; two dear sisters, Linda Turbone and Virginia Holmes; and two cherished grandchildren, Zenia and Sean Jr.   She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Wednesday, May 17, 2017, 9:15AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM funeral mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.  Entombment will follow at Marlboro Cemetery & Mausoleum, Marlboro.  To post a condolence to the family or for directions to the funeral home, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
