James T. Norris Jr.

James T. Norris Jr. , 76, of Union Beach,  peacefully passed away surrounded by his family, Sunday December 30, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital of Holmdel.
James was born, raised and a lifelong resident of Jersey City, moving to Union Beach 14 years ago.
He is a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and worked in Maintenance for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for 37 years before retiring in 2003.
To many, James was a very even-tempered man who loved not only his children, but especially his grandchildren.
Above all else, he was a hard worker and a great husband who did everything for his wife and family.  He was the best husband you could ask for.
He was also a great guy, best-man at his son Scott's wedding, best friend and very handy around the house, noted for his talent and proficiency in setting floor and wall tiles. Many also knew him to be a great dancer.
James was predeceased by his parents, James Norris Sr. and Wilhelmina (Huppach) Norris; and his beloved wife Judith (Haanes) Norris.
James is survived by his children: Susan Sellitto and her husband Salvatore of Howell; Scott Norris and his wife Sandra of Union Beach; and a daughter-in-law Wendy Norris of Jamesburg.
James also leaves behind a sister Kathleen Rodrick and her husband Robert o f Lebanon; as well as 9 cherished grandchildren. James will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts. 
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for James on Wednesday January 2, 2018 from 4-8PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735, with a funeral service be offered during the visitation.
