James William Drower, 73, of Keyport passed away Sunday August 19, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital of Holmdel. He was born in Jersey City and grew up there before moving to Keyport. He was a High School Graduate.
James was the long-time owner and operator of J.D. and Sons Plumbing and Heating of Keyport, for over forty years. He loved fishing, visiting Long Beach Island, was a Fourth-Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus of St. Joseph's, Council #3402 Colombian Club of Keyport and the Keyport Elks Lodge. James was also an active participant in the Keyport KYL Little League, serving as a coach for 5 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Joanne (Snee) Drower , parents Percy Drower and Catherine (McCaffery) Drower, as well as a nephew Michael Blake. He is survived by his sons Michael Drower of Keyport and James E. Drower of Hazlet. He also leaves behind a dear sister Catherine Blake and her husband Charles of Laurence Harbor; and grandchildren Ashely, Paige, Jennifer and Kimberly.
A visitation will be held for James on Friday August 24, 2018 from 5-7PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735, with a funeral service at 6PM to be held during the visitation. Following the visitation, James will be privately cremated.
