Gloria E. (`Fritze) Shields

Gloria E. (Fritze) Shields, 87, of Matawan, passed away, Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  Born in Nutley, she resided in Newark and Cliffwood prior to settling in Matawan 13 years ago.  She retired from the Workers’ Compensation Bureau, Newark, as a supervisor and keyboard operator.  She was a member of the Minisink Seniors.

Gloria was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Tony DeAngelo; and her beloved second husband, Edward Shields.  She is survived by her loving son, Paul Shields of South Amboy; two cherished grandchildren, Karyn Shields and Rebecca Stoming; and two precious twin great grandchildren, Shannon and Michael.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Friday, June 2, 2017, 10AM, with an 11AM Prayer service at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.  You may post a condolence to the family or obtain directions to the funeral home at the website www.dayfuneralhome.com.
