Geraldine E. (Malloy) Hediger

Geraldine E. (Malloy) Hediger, 87, recently of Whiting, formerly of Staten Island, NY and Cliffwood Beach, NJ passed away Friday May 5, 2017 at Southern Ocean Medical Center of Manahawkin. 

She was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

She worked as a Business Manager for 10 years at Autosport in Cliffwood Beach.

Geraldine was predeceased by her parents Joseph D. “Fireball Joe” Malloy and Marie Malloy (Marley), and her husband Robert Hediger Sr.; two brothers Joseph E. and Leon Malloy; and a grandson Kyle O’Leary.

She was survived by her beloved children Nancy and her husband Tony Bentley of South Amboy, Robert Jr. of Whiting, Lisa Hediger of Bradley Beach, Karen and her husband Dan O’Leary of Jackson, and a dear sister Nancy Grimaldi of Manahawkin, and a brother Robert Malloy of West Wyoming, Pennsylvania.

Geraldine also leaves behind 4 loving grandchildren Jenna Martinez of North Plainfield and her husband Adrian, Daniel Jr., Lauren, and Brittany O’Leary all of Jackson, NJ, four great grandchildren; and 3 step grandchildren, Christopher, Diana and Tony Bentley, Jr.  

Geraldine loved to dance, roller skate, listen to music, and do puzzles with her best friend Jenna.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Geraldine on Monday May 8, 2017 from 5-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, NJ 07735 and on Tuesday May 9, 2017 at the funeral home at 8AM for a 9AM Mass at St Lawrence RC Church of Laurence Harbor.  Burial will follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery of Keyport.
