Geraldine G. (Gantner) DeFalco

Geraldine (Gantner) Marsella DeFalco, 90, of Hazlet, went home to be with the Lord peacefully, with her family by her side, Friday, October 12, 2018. Born in Jersey City to the late Nicholas and Delia (Episcopo) Gantner, she lived in Toms River and for the past 40 years in Hazlet. After working in the family grocery store, she was a manager for Acme Supermarkets and then Bradlees Department stores in Toms River and Hazlet for over 20 years. A beautiful woman, inside and out, always fashionably dressed and possessing a tireless work ethic. Her greatest passion was helping and spending time with her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and her greatest joy was being a Grandma.     

 She was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony Marsella in 1966 and her beloved husband Sam DeFalco in 2012, sister Florence and brother-in-law Delmas, brothers Nicholas and sister-in-law Elizabeth, Jerome and sister-in-law Patricia and Dennis. 
 
 She is survived by her cherished children, son Anthony and daughter-in-law Marquel, daughter Delia and son-in-law Wesley Fagan, Holmdel. Adoring grandchildren Anthony, Wesley, and fiancé Monica, Daniel and wife Katherine, Alexander and Annalise. Her step children and their families, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. The family extends our warmest and sincere appreciation to her loving caregiver Tina. 

 She was a Godly and devout Christian, a 'prayer warrior', spending countless hours on her knees, praying for family and friends and was a parishioner of St. Joseph/ Our Lady of Fatima Church, Keyport, for over 40 years. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Bayshore Medical Center for their care and kindness. Our hearts are broken, we will miss her dearly. 

 Visitation will be Friday, October 26, 2018 3-8PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Pl., Keyport. Saturday, October 27, 2018, 8:30AM at the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass will be celebrated, 9:30AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Keyport, interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
