Georgia Anagnostopoulos, 84 years old, passed away March, 8th 2018 surrounded by family. She grew up in Kyparissi, Greece with her parents and brother. At the age of 16, in hopes to provide a better life for her family in Greece, she came to Montreal, Canada on a work visa. She met and married the love of her life, John. They migrated to New Jersey and settled in Hazlet to raise their family. They owned and operated the Polar Bear Ice Cream Store for over 50 years. A true matriarch, her passion for family knew no limits. She was a compassionate person who constantly helped others. She had a lasting impact on all those who had a pleasure of knowing her and will be greatly missed.
Georgia is survived by her husband of 65 years John Anagnostopoulos; daughters Dina Beahrs, Angela Cauffman, and Maria Anagnostopoulos; sons-in-law, Chuck Beahrs and Ronnie Cauffman; grandchildren, Mario Farmakis and his wife Michelle, John Farmakis and his wife Beth, Justin Cauffman and his fiancé Jacqueline Ford, Jessica Burkard and her husband Brian; great grandchildren, Matthew & Nathan Farmakis and Raelynn Burkard.
She is predeceased by her beloved son, Tommy Anagnostopoulos and her brother, Gregory Ioannidis.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life from 9-11 am Friday, March 16th, with an 11 am service at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel. Internment to follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, on Route 79. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
