George E. Helfrich, 62, of Hazlet passed away at home Wednesday, February 27, 2019 surrounded by his family and friends.  Born in Newark he lived in Sayerville before relocating in Hazlet. George worked as a Insurance Appraiser for AAA of Mt. Laurel, NJ.  He was a communicant of St. Benedicts RC Church, Holmdel and had a great love of cars.  He was also a great mechanic, no job too small or too big for him to tackle.

George was predeceased by his parents; George and Eilene Helfrich and his brother Darren Helfrich.  He is survived by his loving wife Josie, his cherished daughter Angela both of Hazlet.  He also leaves his dear siblings Dorene Baran of Florida and Sean Helfrich of Missouri.  George will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Monday 9:30 am at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Pl., Keyport 07735.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow 10:30am at St. Benedicts RC Church, Holmdel.
