Dolores M. (Galvin) Borelli, age 90, of Old Bridge, NJ peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation at Ocean Grove. She was born on June 30, 1928 to John and Marie Galvin in Jersey City, NJ where she lived most of her life. Dolores was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Member Council 18, in Jersey City, NJ. She married the love of her life, Martin in 1950, and she was a superb homemaker, who always took such great care of her family. Dolores was a loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Dolores was welcomed into heaven by her grandson, Matthew Nierstedt, who passed away in 2017, whom she loved and missed very much. She is also predeceased by her brother, Gerald Galvin. Dolores is survived by her beloved husband of 68 wonderful years, Martin Borelli of Old Bridge, NJ; her seven children and their spouses: Martin J. Borelli of Old Bridge, NJ; Patricia and her husband Charles Nierstedt of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ; Mary Borelli of Phoenix, AZ; Joseph Borelli and his wife MaryLou of Jersey City, NJ; John Borelli of Lyndhurst, NJ; Margaret "Peg" Borelli of Tinton Falls, NJ; Michael Borelli of Jersey City, NJ; her three cherished grandchildren: Jaclyn Fitzgerald; Lauren Ventola and her husband Nicholas; Robyn Nierstedt; her precious great-granddaughter, Sienna Marie Ventola, her brother John Galvin and his wife Rosemary of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and many nieces and nephews.
Dolores will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 4-8PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; On Friday, February 22, 2019, family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9AM for a 10AM Mass at St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor, NJ. Entombment will follow mass at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the New Jersey Make a Wish Foundation in memory of Dolores.
