Carmela Antonia (Torino) Gallo, 82, of Metuchen, passed away, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at JFK Medical Center, Edison. She was born in Vallata, Italy, and emigrated to the United States in 1955. She worked as a seamstress for 18 years, retiring in 1972. She devoted her life to her family and was always ready to give a helping hand. She was a very generous woman with a tireless energy and humble and resilient attitude.
Carmela was predeceased by her parents, Francesco Alfonso and Maria (De Paola) Torino and by siblings, Liberatore Torino and Geraldine DiSano. She is survived by her beloved husband, Antonio Gallo; her two loving daughters, Gloria Tripicchio and husband Aldo of Clark and Geraldine Ferrara and husband Innocenzo of Aberdeen; dear siblings, Gina Corbosiero of Montclair, Emma Cerullo and husband Vito of Glen Gardner and Louise DeJesso and husband Peter of Cumming, GA. Carmela enjoyed and cherished the company of her grandchildren, Gianfranco and his wife Kristen, Anthony, Kristen Giovanna, Maria and Marco and her two precious great grandchildren, Charles and Eloise. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 5-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Tuesday, April 3, 2018, 10:45AM
