Bernadette (Kobstad) Popola

 Bernadette Popola, 55, of Matawan, NJ passed away Monday, November 4th, at home with her family by her side.
Bernadette was born in Bayridge Brooklyn, NY on December 31, 1963, a daughter of the late Roberta (Allen) and John Kobstad. She lived in Sayreville before moving to Matawan 10 years ago. She was a communicant of St.Joseph's RCC Keyport. Bernadette was a Checker for Local 1 Longshoreman Union for many years.
Bernadette is survived by her loving son Patrick Popola, and cherished siblings; Teddy Kobstad, Brenda Castiglione, Gail Kobstad-Jimenez, Gary Kobstad and John Kobstad; many nieces and nephews Andrew and Jacob Kobstad, Jackie and Ryan Kobstad, Colin and Brooke Kobstad, Joseph , Peter  and Jeanette Castiglione, and Karin Bella Jimenez.

She was also a Great Aunt to Joseph, Vincent and Anthony Castiglione .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday November 7, 2019 11am at St. Joseph's RCC, Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Keyport. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Bernadette's name to The Melanoma Research Foundation.
