Arthur J. Meyer Sr., 80, of Morganville, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Care One of Holmdel. He was born in Long Branch and resided in Hazlet for 32 years. He worked as a tool and die maker in Keansburg and then worked in the postal service industry in Englishtown. Arthur was a member of the Hazlet First Aid; delivered Meals on Wheels and served his country proudly in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arthur was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan; a son Donald Robert Meyer; his parents, Charles and Catherine Soehele Meyer; a brother Charles Meyer and a sister Katherine Richards. He is survived by his loving children, his son Arthur J. Meyer Jr. and his wife Sue of Hazlet; his daughter Deborah Meyer of Freehold, and a brother Edward Meyer. Arthur also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren; Lisa, Ricky, Rebecca, Mathew, and Joseph; as well as two precious great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Brayden.
Family and friends are invited Wednesday, February 6, 2013, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Thursday, February 7, 2013, 10:30AM, with a service an 11AM service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
