Because our sons, Mark Jr and Brian were best friends, Ánn and I became wonderful friends. We walked many miles on the high school track together, had the boys in each other's homes very often, shared much car pooling, did scouts, and school activities. Ánn always talked so lovingly of her family. She is one of the most positive people I ever met, even through the illness. I will miss her. Hugs to the family.

I just broke the news to my mom, who was a friend of Ann's. Before we ended the call, she said, "When I last saw her, we talked a lot about when you and Mark (Jr.) were little. You know, she was like a second mom to you." It's true. I spent so much time in the Riccardi home - and ate so much from the Riccardi kitchen! - and Ann was always completely welcoming. She is a huge part of an entire childhood worth of happy memories.

Ann, When I received this heart wrenching call from Laura yesterday. I was shattered. A flood of memories passed before me. Laura and I have been best friends/sisters for 56 years and you were part of my life my heart for that long. I saw you grow from that little girl to the strong confident woman/wife/mother/grandmother you became. You suffered for so long always keeping a positive outlook caring for everyone around you. You are our newest star shining down and watching over all that loved you, left behind to mourn their greatest loss. You will be sorely missed (always loved) by all you loved.
