Andrew Fischler
November 23, 1950 ~ January 4, 2018 (age 67) 67 Years Old
Andrew Fischler, of Whiting, passed away, on January 4, 2018. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Keyport. He was KHS class of ’69. He retired as a letter carrier from the Keyport Post Office, was a former boat builder at Luhrs and a life member of the Keyport First Aid Squad. He retired to Crestwood Village in Whiting.
Andy played trumpet and saxophone in the tri-state/shore area in many bands, including Kold Steal, Trieste, Windward Passage, Bacchus, Chazz, and GTE. He was an avid golfer and softball player, liked wood working and had a lifelong love of model trains.
He is survived by his son, Andrew Jr. (aka AJ) and wife Shannon of San Francisco; his brother, Pete and wife Sandy of Whiting; three sisters, Nina and husband Bill Jeandron of Keyport, Mary Ann of Whiting and Nancy and husband Bob Caiati of Morganville. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Thursday, 9:45AM at the funeral home, with a 10:30AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.
