Kevin R. Elwood, 62, of Cliffwood, passed away, Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at UMDNJ – University of Medicine and Dental of New Jersey, Newark.  He was born in Newark, resided in North Plainfield, moving to Cliffwood 30 years ago.  He worked as a salesman with Manning and Lewis Engineering Company, Union.  

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Helen Elwood.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Tozzi Elwood; a loving daughter, Kristy Elwood and her fiancé, Chris of Orange Lake, NY; a brother, Thomas Elwood and wife Cathy of New Hampshire; a sister, Donna Elwood of Sarasota, FL; his in-laws, Joe Tozzi of Somerset and Jane Katcher of Fords; a brother-in-law, Phil Tozzi of Somerville; and many nieces and nephews.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited Friday, February 1, 2013, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Saturday, 8:30AM at the funeral home, with a 9:15 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Transplant Assistance Fund, HelpHOPELive, Two Radnor Corporate Center, 100 Matasonford Road, Suite 100, Radnor, PA  19087 or www.helphopelive.org.  To offer the family online condolences or for directions to the funeral home, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.

Kevin and I worked together briefly as my company provided M&L data on planned capital projects. I don't recall meeting Kevin in person, but spent a lot of time with him on the telephone. It was always nice talking with him. He;ll be missed.

To Kevin's family: You are in my thoughts as you find your way though this heartbreaking time of sorrow. I pray that your faith will create inner peace and that God will send you blessings in the days ahead. May Kevin rest in eternal peace.

So sorry I wasn't there with you Patty. I wanted to make it to the viewing but was away. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I cant imagine your pain after all you've been through. Kevin is certainly in God's hands and out of pain. I pray you & Kristi will receive comfort in your time of sorrow. I love you Pat, your a good friend. Should you ever need anything or just a person to sit in silence with you please dont hesitate to call.
