Mary L. Layng, 80, of Hazlet passed away Saturday September 1st, 2012 at home. Born in Jersey City, she lived there before moving to Hazlet 52 years ago. After graduating high school, Mary worked for the New York Telephone Company, until her children were born. She was very involved with her family, they were her life. After her father’s death, she became caretaker for her mother. Mary was also a communicant of Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach. Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is predeceased by her husband, George Layng; her parents, John and Bridget Christine Kingston; brothers, John Joseph Kingston and William Robert Kingston; and son in law Harry Froening. She is survived by her children, William Layng of Hazlet, Nancy Anne Layng-Froening of East Windsor, Kenneth Layng of Hazlet, and Theresa Castillo and her husband Robert of Old Bridge; grandchildren, Andrew Francis Froening and his wife Angelina , and Colin J. Froening, all of East Windsor; great grandson, James Froening; and many nieces and nephews.
