Lois E. Sweeney, 80, of Old Bridge, died peacefully, Thursday, March 15, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always put her family before herself and will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Lois was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Patrick J. Sweeney (2011). She is survived by her loving children, Ann Cernak and her husband, Patrick of Aberdeen; Thomas Sweeney and his wife, Susan of Aberdeen; Robert Sweeney and his wife, Cami of Pawtucket, RI; Janet Bellaran and her husband, Francis of Holmdel; Kim Sweeney of Union Beach; and Jackie Sweeney of Old Bridge; two dear sisters, Patricia Hourihan of Tinton Falls and Therese Gregory of Smallwood, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Allison, Jenna and her fiancé, Douglas Hay, Michael, Andrew, Shayna, Samantha, Brittany, Jonathan, Lindsey, Shane, Josiah and Benjamin; and two great grandchildren, Nicolette and Douglas.
At the direction of the family, cremation is private. A Memorial Mass will take place, Saturday, March 17, 2012, 10AM at St. Clement RC Church, Matawan. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
