Aida Salerno, 77, of Hazlet, passed away, Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Manhattan, she resided in Hoboken before moving to Hazlet 43 years ago. She worked as a beautician and then in retail sales at A&S Sterns. Aida enjoyed traveling, was an artistic painter, a wonderful cook, loved animals and her grandchildren and was family oriented.
Aida was predeceased by her parents, Peter J. and Helen Cotto Morales. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Salerno; her loving children, Linda Paul of Richmond, VA; and Richard Salerno and his wife, Mary of Hazlet; a dear sister, Margaret Jeanine Capodaglia and her husband, George of Kinnelon; her cherished grandchildren, David Paul, Glen Paul, Richard Salerno, and Maria Salerno; and two great grandchildren, Jeremy Paul and Jonathan Paul. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited Wednesday, June 20, 2012, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Thursday, 8:30AM at the funeral home, with a 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach.
