William R. "Parkway Bill" Ryan
May 8, 1940 ~ September 5, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years OldWilliam R. “Parkway Bill” Ryan, 77, of Cliffwood Beach/Aberdeen Township, passed away, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Staten Island and Perth Amboy, before settling in Cliffwood Beach. Bill met his beautiful wife, Iris, at Mr. B’s Deli, Perth Amboy, where he worked as a cook for many years. He worked as a bartender for 20 years with John’s Bar & Grill, Cliffwood Beach and 15 years as a bus driver with NJ Transit, Woodbridge, prior to retiring. He was a member of the St. Joseph Knights of Columbus; the Cliffwood Volunteer Fire Company; and AMVETS of Florida.
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Iris S. Ryan in 2011; a son, Roger Goodreau; his parents, William A. and Isabelle (Welsh) Ryan; and siblings, Michael Ryan, Robert Ryan, Carol Schaefer, Millicent Sinka and Doreen Mosinik. He is survived by his loving children, William A. Ryan and his companion Gillian McHugh of Cliffwood Beach and Holly Lasko and her husband Michael of Jackson; siblings, Timothy Ryan, Loretta Weichart, Joanne Ryan, and Arlene Boone; and three cherished grandchildren, Michael, Alex and Ashley Lasko. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; with a 7:30PM service at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
