William R. Giessuebel, Jr., 81, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away, Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.  Born in Newark, NJ, he grew up in Irvington, moving to Manalapan, before settling in Bethlehem.  He worked as a banker with PNC Bank for 40 years, retiring in 1993.  He served his country in the Army National Guard Reserve, as Chief Supply Sergeant. William was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus; he was involved with youth athletics, baseball and pop warner in Manalapan and he enjoyed golfing as a hobby, as well as fishing and water sports. 

 

William was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lillian J. (Fitterer) Giessuebel; and his parents, William R. and Agatha (Peterson) Giessuebel.  He is survived by his three loving sons, William R. III and his wife Kathleen of Virginia Beach, VA; David L. of Bethlehem, PA; and Robert E. and his wife Christine of Wenonah; his siblings, Eugene and his wife Linda; Mary and Larry Giessuebel; five cherished grandchildren, Richard “Ricky,” Nicole, Justin, Cody and Kara; and two precious great grandsons, Peter and Jeremy.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

 

Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2017, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ; and Monday, November 13, 2017, 8AM at the funeral home, with a 9AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport.
