Vito J. Grande, 96, of Matawan, passed away, Friday, August 25, 2017, at Laurel Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Keansburg.  He was born in Cliffwood and resided in Matawan.  He retired in 1983, after 38 years of service as a Laborer with Local 72, Perth Amboy.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, as a Corporal in the Tank Division located in the South Pacific.  Vito was a former parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport; as well as a member of the Disabled American Vets, Middletown; and the VFW, Keyport.

 

Vito was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Trachimowicz; his parents, John and Agnes (Grandy) Grande; and all his siblings.  He is survived by his two loving children, Michael John Grande and his wife Janice of Hazlet and Frances Marie Kaeser and husband Robert of South Dakota; four cherished grandchildren; and six precious great grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

 

Visitation will take place on Monday, August 28, 2017, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Tuesday, August 29, 2017, 9:30AM, with 10AM funeral service at the funeral home.
