Thomas Davern Eastmond, Sr., 70, of Hazlet, passed away, Friday, June 17, 2016, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  He was born in Union Beach, where he resided there prior to moving to Hazlet.  He retired in 2006, after 35 years, working as a forklift operator at Inland Container, Spotswood.  He enjoyed horse racing at Monmouth Park; scratch-off tickets; coin collecting and vintage cartoon movies.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

 

Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Albert A. and Dorothy M. (Arosa) Eastmond; and a daughter, Victoria Eastmond.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret (McKenna) Eastmond; his loving children, T.J. Eastmond and his wife Melissa of Hazlet; Christopher McKenna Eastmond of Hazlet; Valerie Eastmond-Roberts of Atlanta, GA; and Lynn Ann Ergle of McDonough, GA; his four brothers, Hugh, Albert, Donald and Garrett Eastmond; his sister, Alice Eastmond; many cherished grandchildren; and one precious great granddaughter.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

 

Visitation will take place on Monday, June 20, 2016, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 9:30AM, at the funeral home, with a 10AM service.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport.  You may leave a condolence for the family and obtain directions to the funeral home at www.dayfuneralhome.com.
