Salvatore D’Ambrosio, 85, of Morganville, passed away, Monday, March 22, 2010, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was born in Newark and resided in Harrison for 50 years before moving to Morganville. He was a clerk with the U.S. Post Office, Secaucus. Prior he was the owner/operator of Patio Cocktail Lounge, Harrison. He served his country in the Marines during WWII, where he received the Purple Heart.
Salvatore is survived by three children, Fred, Dina and Anthony D’Ambrosio, all of Morganville; two brothers, Anthony of Newark and Joseph of Nutley; and two grandchildren, Fred D’Ambrosio, Jr. and Richard Dean Garrell, both of Morganville.
Family and friends are invited Monday, 4-8PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport and Tuesday, 10:30AM, with an 11AM service at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
