Rudolph “Rudy” Ferrara, 90, lifelong resident of Keyport, passed away, Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. He was born in Newark to the late Frank and Fannie (Vitalo) Ferrara. He was one of eight children. Rudy was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport and a member of the Keyport-Matawan Elks. Rudy was a shoemaker in Keyport for over 75 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Rudy is survived by two sons, Robert of Eatontown and Rudy of Keyport; his beloved niece, Kathryn of Union Beach; four grandchildren, Alexyss, Danielle, Jake and Lauren; and one great grandchild, Louie. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Saturday, March 3, 2018, 9:15AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.
