Roy P. Poulsen, 87, of Matawan, passed away, Monday, February 27, 2017, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in the Bronx, NY, and resided in Laurence Harbor and Cliffwood Beach, prior to moving to Matawan 47 years ago. He retired from Ford, Metuchen, after 25 years of service on the assembly line. He served his country in the Army Air Corp. for three years.
Roy was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Astrid (Eagen) Poulsen; and his sister, Dolores Poulsen. He is survived by his children, Roy G. Poulsen, Kevin Poulsen, Todd W. Poulsen, Vicki Whitt, Susan Katz and Karen McIntosh; seven cherished grandchildren, Michelle Ramsey, Dana Katz, Jason Katz, Charlene Poulsen, Brandon Poulsen, Eric Katz, Nicole Poulsen and Tyler Whitt; and five precious great grandchildren, Alexander, Devin, Alexa, Kailee and Bella Katz. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. Roy will be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Roy to the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
