Rose M. (Ficocelli) Larkin

Rose M. (Ficocelli) Larkin, 93, of Hazlet, passed away, Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  She was born in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania to the late Alex and Teresa (Ouly) Ficocelli.  Rose served her country in the U.S. Army Air Force as a 1st Lt. Flight Nurse during WWII, serving the U.S. in Okinawa, Tokyo, Japan and the Philippines.  She attended and graduated from nursing school and worked at St. Clare’s Hospital, New York City as a registered nurse for 13 years.

Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband, John F. Larkin; and siblings, Mary, Anthony and Joseph.  She is survived by two sons, Thomas Larkin Of Hampton; and John Larkin of Tinton Falls; and two sisters, Lucy Mantz of Nesquehoning, PA and Louise Donahue of Laurel Springs, NJ.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 2-4PM, with a 3PM service at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735.  Rose will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.   You may post a condolence to the family or obtain directions to the funeral home at www.dayfuneralhome.com.
