Robert Francis McCook Sr., age 86, died 4:10pm, Saturday March 10, 2018, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank NJ after a long battle with Cancer and Kidney failure. Born, January 22, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY.
Robert (Bob), worked hard all his life. He began his long career as an 18 wheel truck driver for Borden’s Milk Company out of Newark, NJ at a very young age. He later moved on to Texaco Oil Campany driving Oil Tankers before being promoted to Dispatcher. After his early retirement from Texaco, Bob, started his own successful Trucking Company, McCook and Sons. He and his wife Irma moved to Royal Palm Beach, FL where he continued his love for driving with Ranger Highway Construction. After the passing of his wife, Bob moved back to New Jersey where he resided at Keyport Leisure Bay Senior Apartments and Sunrise Assisted Living in Lincroft, NJ. Bob loved NFL football, his favorite team was the NY Jets. He took great pleasure helping his friends and neighbors by always lending a hand when needed. He enjoyed a friendly game of cards with friends and family. His greatest love was spending precious time with his family.
He is predeceased by his parents James McCook and Gladys (Jordan) McCook; beloved wife Irma (Seda) McCook; son Richard (Ric) McCook; siblings James McCook, Donald McCook and Elsie Baucus and grandson Michael (Mikey) Garibaldi.
Bob, is survived by his loving children, Robert McCook Jr. and Kimberly of Holmdel NJ; Michael and Barbara McCook of Henderson, NV; Leslie (Terry) McCook of Tampa FL; Kelly Garibaldi and Tom Cusmano of Whiting, NJ; brother Chuck McCook and Charley Vradenburgh of Salenas, CA., grandchildren Shannon, Robert III, Michael, Olivia, Joshua and Asher; and 3 great grandchildren, Adrianna, Trinity and Adelei.
