Nancy (Nigro) Lewicki

Nancy Nigro Lewicki, 99, of Old Bridge, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018.  Born in Enfield, CT, she resided in Brooklyn, NY, Matawan, NJ, and then Whittier, California for over 40 years.  She settled in Old Bridge in 2015.  She was a self-employed professional seamstress.  Nancy loved cooking, gardening, and playing the slots at casinos.  She also volunteered for numerous charity organizations, preparing food for the homeless and knitting blankets for local veterans.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Fortunata (Giannettino) Nigro; her two sons, Richard and Robert Lewicki, Sr.; and her siblings, Rosemarie Fernandez, Angelo Infanto, Margaret Bednar, and John, Sammy, James, and Robert Nigro.  She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Judy Lewicki of Aberdeen and June Lewicki of Old Bridge; 10 cherished grandchildren, Robert F. Jr. and his wife Karen, James and his wife Karen, Stephen, Joseph, Mary Giusti and her husband John, John, Sheri Ahearn and her husband Glen, Susan, Thomas and Judy; 6 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, another great great grandchild on the way, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Wednesday, January 24, 2018, 9:15AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.  Nancy will be privately cremated.
