Mary Lee Mulhall, 84, of Aberdeen, passed away Friday, September 23rd.  Mary grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma before settling in Aberdeen in 1963 where she raised her three children.  She woke at the crack of dawn for nearly 30 years to make sure school busses got to the students of Matawan and then, Sayreville, where she retired in 1999.

Mary was an extraordinary woman.  She physically left the West for Vermont, New York City, and eventually New Jersey, but part of her heart was always riding horses in the Grand Tetons of Wyoming or sailing on Grand Lake in Oklahoma.

She loved adventures, car trips, singing silly camp songs with her kids and grandkids.   She loved music of all genres, and parties at her home, otherwise known as “The Love House”, because of the many marriages that were sparked there.  She loved airplanes…flying in them, watching them, talking about them, and jumping out of them!

Most of all, she loved being with her children and grandchildren, and her extended family, which included almost everyone that knew her.  She was a compassionate listener and counselor and was thought of as Mom to many more than her own children.  She gave us all unconditional love.

Mary was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Ann Whitney Fankhauser.  She is survived by her three children, Leslie Carson (Neal), Lee Fankhauser (Amy), and William Fankhauser (Barbara) and eight grandchildren, who adored their Grammy/Mimi.
