Mark J. Komar 72 of Laurence Harbor passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday November 19, 2016. He was born in Bayonne to Mark "Vince" and Anna nee Merkowsky Komar in 1944. Mark lived in Colonia,and Matawan before moving to Laurence Harbor 23 years ago. Mark served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. He worked as a mortgage banker for American Mortgage Bankers in West Long Branch until his retirement.
Mark is survived by his two daughters Dana Komar, Jaime Freeman and his son David Komar. Also surviving are Nancy Mullen, and six grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Adrian DeMish VanGlahn.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday November 22, 2016 from 4-8pm. A funeral for Mark will be Wednesday November 23, 2016 8:30 am at Day Funeral Home followed by a Mass at St. Benedict's RC Church, Holmdel at 9:30am. Interment will be held at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
