Maria P. (Rios) de la Cruz

Maria P. de la Cruz, 85, of Keyport, passed away, Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.  Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she came to the United States and resided in New York City before settling in Keyport.  She worked as a seamstress with Benkel Manufacturing, Brooklyn, NY, prior to retiring. 

Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Julio de la Cruz; a son, Roger Nieves; her parents, Juan Marcial and Juana (Ramos) Rios; two brothers and two sisters.  She is survived by her children, Raul Nieves and his wife Ann Marie of Old Bridge; Sally Lopez and her husband Ralph of Cliffwood Beach; Nancy Arroyo and her husband Pablo of New City, NY; and Danny de la Cruz of Cliffwood; her siblings, Juan Marcial Rios, Jr. of NYC; Liduvina Santiago of Puerto Rico; Luz Clarissa Diaz of NYC; and Leonor Cubero of NY State; ten cherished grandchildren; and nine precious great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 2-6PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735.  Maria will be privately cremated; and a memorial mass will take place at a later date.
