Manuela (Quintela) Lamela

Manuela (Quintela) Lamela, 86, of Cliffwood Beach, passed away, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  She was born in Spain and moved to the United States when she was 11 years old.  She lived in Bayonne before moving to Cliffwood Beach in 1963.  She worked in the Cafeteria at Cedar Ridge H.S. before retiring; and she was a communicant of St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor.

Manuela was predeceased by her beloved husband, John in 1980; and her parents, Manuel and Maria (Lago) Quintela.  She is survived by her loving children, Margaret Lamela of Cliffwood Beach; John Lamela of Sweet Valley, PA; Tony Lamela of Florida; Manny Lamela of Cliffwood Beach; and Anne Ryan of Pine Beach; a dear brother, Joseph Quintela of Bayonne; 11 cherished grandchildren; and 12 precious great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and the neighborhood where she loved to take her daily walks.

At the direction of family, Manuela will be privately cremated.  A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2017, 10AM at St. Lawrence RC Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, NJ 08879.  Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735, was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.  To post a condolence to the family, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
