Lucille A. (Rump) Fahey, 85, of Union Beach, passed away at home with her family on November 27, 2017.  Lucille was born on January 21, 1932, in Hoboken, NJ.  She was raised in Hoboken and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Grammar School and Our Lady of Grace High School (where she was her class president), Hoboken, NJ.  Lucille was employed as an executive secretary for the Lipton Tea Company, Hoboken, and later in life, she was a teacher’s assistant for the Union Beach Public School and the New School, Holmdel, NJ.

Lucille was a kind and compassionate soul who treasured her family with all her heart.  She would open up her heart and home to anyone in need and was a true advocate for forgiveness and not holding a grudge.  She was always eager to offer others encouraging words and was a superior mother and mema who loved her children and grandchildren fiercely.  Our hearts are broken Ma, but we will never forget everything you did for us.  Lucille was a parishioner of Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach, NJ and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.  She was also a devout follower and believer of the works of St. Jude.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Frank and Henrietta (Daly) Rump; her treasured sister, Janet Wall; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Fahey and Mary McClellan.  Also, her dearest cousins, Eddie Debreuil and Bobby Debreuil.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Bernard J. Fahey, Sr.; her beloved son, Bernard J. Fahey, Jr. and wife Cathy (Freehold); her adored daughter, Maureen L. Saporita (Union Beach); her cherished grandchildren, Meghan Saporita (Union Beach) and Nicholas Saporita (Union Beach); her sisters, Margaret Malinowski (Matawan), Eileen Corby (Lakewood), Regina Reiner (Rahway) and Bernadette Rump (Hoboken); her brother, Francis Rump (Wildwood); and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 5-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Saturday, December 2, 2017, 9AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family RC Church, Hwy. 36, Union Beach.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport.  To post a condolence to the family or for directions to the funeral home, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
