Louise (Legan) Smutek

 

Louise Smutek, 91, of Matawan, passed away, Monday April 9^th, 2012, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Stojance, Poland, she lived in Jersey City before moving to Matawan in 1982. She was a homemaker. Louise was a communicant of St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor. She also served in the British Eighth Army and the Polish Second Corps.

Louise is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Smutek; her parents, Michael and Eva Legan; and her sisters, Katharina and Maria Kramasz. She is survived by her sons, Ben J. Smutek and his wife Diane of Matawan and Richard J. Smutek and his wife Diane of West Windsor; grandchildren, Michelle Cherashore and her husband Kevin of Tallahassee FL; Karen Jumonville and her husband Neil of Tallahassee FL; Patricia Smutek; Joseph Smutek; and Victoria Smutek; along with two great grandchildren, Eric Joel; and Ava Elise.

Family and friends are invited Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Wednesday, 8AM at the funeral home, with a 9AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor.
