Leonard W. Nemeth, 79, of Laurence Harbor, passed away, Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Woodbridge, he resided in Morganville moving to Laurence Harbor 59 years ago. He worked for the Teamsters Union 469, Hazlet, prior to retiring. He was a 38 year member of the Morganville Volunteer Fire Company, where he was past president and a life member. Leonard was a great father, who enjoyed fishing, boating, Atlantic City, boxing, and his grandchildren.
Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Sophie (Zavorski) Nemeth. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara (Stanislawczyk) Nemeth; his loving children, Phyllis Kelch and her husband Henry of Monroe Township; Theresa DiCaro and her husband Ben of Rockhill, SC; and Sheila Nemeth and Tim Kozlak of Laurence Harbor; a brother, Albert Nemeth and his wife Pat of Monroe Township; a sister-in-law, Betty Nemeth of FL; a sister, Lillian Nemeth of Brick; six cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Melissa, Alexis, Henry and Jason; two precious great grandchildren, Zoey and Konrad; and many adored nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 28, 2017, from 1-3PM & 4-7PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, with a 7PM Firemen’s Service at the funeral home.
