Joseph M. Dietrich, 80, of Union Beach, passed away, Friday, June 10, 2017, at home. Born in Newark, NJ, he resided in North Middletown prior to settling in Union Beach 31 years ago. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 603, Keansburg; a member of the USBC and ABT as an avid bowler. The past 14 years Joseph was a member of the World Tavern Poker League where he was known as “Pops” to his friends and a regular attendee at Thursday Night Bingo in Keyport. Joseph also enjoyed fishing and crabbing with his family.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ruth (Conway) Dietrich; three sisters, Sofie, Marie and Ruth; and one brother William. He is survived by his four children, Katherine, Margaret and her husband John, Joseph and his wife Cindy, and Robert and his wife Michelle; one brother Frederick; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, June 12, 2017, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Tuesday, June 13, 2017, 8:45AM, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at 10AM at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Marlboro.
