John (Jack) Edmund Macken, 70, of Keansburg, passed away, Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Staten Island and Hazlet, before moving to Keansburg. He retired in 2001, as an executive chauffeur for Bell Labs/AT&T, Holmdel. Jack loved doo wop music, classic cars and good food. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Liv (Kristofferson) Macken. He is survived by his former wife and friend Maryann Macken, two loving daughters, Janine Macken and her husband, Bob Parkinson of Keansburg; and Ann Marie Pena and her husband, Robert of AZ; a sister, Lynda Lee of Toms River and a brother, Walter Macken of CA; and four cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Tiffany, Robert III and Kimberly. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone at Bayside Manor in Keansburg for their warmth, dedication and excellent care. Jack truly felt at home and could not have been happier or more cared for by everyone.
At the direction of the family, Jack will be privately cremated. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, with a prayer at 7:30PM.
