Jason Strodt

Jason Jeffrey Strodt, 33, of Readfield, Maine, passed away in his sleep on June 18, 2017, while visiting family in New Jersey.

Jason was born in Morristown, New Jersey on January 8, 1984.

Jason was extremely dedicated to his family. He was the beloved husband of Cassandra Brown-Strodt, loving son to Jeffrey and Diane Strodt, devoted brother to Jeffrey (Rob) Strodt and his wife Krista, James Strodt and his wife Sarah Kish, and Dana Lmimouni and her husband Mohammed. Jason was an adoring uncle to his nieces and nephews Reese and Derek Strodt, Liam and Julianna Strodt, and Adam and Haleema Lmimouni.

Jay was loving, kind, and selfless. He was everybody’s best friend and touched the heart of every person he met. He truly accepted people for who they are and where they are in life. His wish was for everyone to be kind and take care of one another and in his corner of the world (which was wherever he went), that message was clear.

Jay dreamed of moving to Maine and starting a farm, a dream that he worked hard to put into action in the last five years of his life. Alongside his wife, he started the Bees Nice Farm, growing organic vegetables and healing herbs and flowers, and raising livestock humanely.  The Farm is an embodiment of Jason, a place where he worked to be more self-sufficient, to be proactive about the future and help the Earth and the people on it, to generously give to those who couldn’t buy, and be generous in spirit to his fellow man. He had an immense gratitude that he was able to see his dream help others around him. His vision for the Bees Nice Farm is a legacy that he leaves behind that will be carried on to thrive and flourish as he dreamed that it would.

Another of Jason’s passions at the forefront of his life was music. Creating, playing, listening to, and genuinely appreciating music were among his favorite of life’s pleasures. His tastes in music were eclectic, as varied as the people with whom he enjoyed sharing this passion. Whether dancing at a festival, jamming at a park or open-mic night, or discussing the meaning of his favorite Grateful Dead tune(s), he connected with people through the mutual love of a good song. Bring him to mind with music- each song, each note, different memories. He would love nothing more than to be remembered in that way.

A celebration of Jason’s life will be held on Saturday July 15th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Willowwood Arboretum, 14 Longview Road, Far Hills, New Jersey. In keeping with Jay’s laidback nature we are going to have a picnic with music and truly celebrate him in a way that he would appreciate. Nature was his church and where he communed. Bring a blanket or chair and enough food to share at our communal table. Though this is an intimate gathering for Jay’s family and friends, please keep in mind that we will be in a beautiful, public place and to be considerate and respectful to all.
