Irwin Polonsky, 82, of Union Beach, passed away Friday, February 4th, 2011 at Victoria House Assisted Living, Matawan. Born in Newark, he lived most of his life in Hazlet. He served his country in the Marines during WWII. He worked as a truck driver for 30 years, most recently with PA Truck Lines in Kearny. He loved fishing and bowling, playing cards with his buddies, and gambling in Atlantic City. Irwin is predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Rose Polonsky. He is survived by his children, Irisann Coppola and her husband Robert of Tinton Falls, Judy Hagberg and her husband Frank of Hazlet, Mark Polonsky Attias and his wife Kathy of Toms River, Robert Polonsky and his wife Nancy of Union Beach, Richard Polonsky and his wife Valerie of Hazlet, James Polonsky of Connecticut, his sister, Ethel Miller of Windsor and his brother, Barry Polonsky of Brick, his grandchildren, Jessica, Robert Jr., Rebecca, Kyle, Ryan, Nicolas, Alexis, Michael, Kelly, Robert Jr., Nicholas, and his great grandchildren, Michael Jr., Matthew, Justin, Grace and Emma. Family and friends are invited Wednesday, 2-4PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport for a memorial visitation. Cremation was private.
