Harold E. Smith

Harold E. Smith, Jr., 75, of Cliffwood Beach, passed away, Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Middletown, he resided in Keyport and Belford, before moving to Cliffwood Beach 42 years ago.  From 1965-2000, he worked as a truck driver with Yellow Freight System, East Brunswick.  He was a member of the Coachman Camping Club.

Harold was predeceased by his parents, Harold E. Smith, Sr. and Pearl (Snyder) Redfield.   He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Flanagan) Smith; his loving children, Deanna Seitz and husband Leonard of Freehold; Darlene Glenny and husband David of Morganville; Cheryl Cannone and husband Pete of Toms River; and Kerry Smith of Cliffwood Beach; his siblings, Sharon Congiagico and Michael Smith, both of Keyport; Dennis Redfield of Texas; Bobby Winters of Rumson and Joan Starkweather of Mays Landing; eight cherished grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Kristen Cella, Andrea Garrison, Allen Cannone, Brianne Cannone, David Glenny, Thomas Cannone and Eric Glenny; nine adored great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Honey.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 2-5PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; with a prayer at 5PM.  Cremation will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Harold, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
