George J McCloskey

George J. McCloskey, 77, of Hazlet, passed away, Saturday, October 3, 2015.He was born in Gallitzin, PA and was affectionately known as Pap.  He was a United States Army Veteran. George worked for General Motors until he retired in 1992 to spend time with his family. He loved the outdoors, gardening and cooking for his family.

George was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Arvilla (Stock) McCloskey; Sisters, Anna Marie and Shirley.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret (Rodgers) McCloskey; Beloved children, Brian and Jeff McCloskey of Hazlet; Jeanette and husband John VanFechtmann of Middletown; Susan and husband Tim Berbrick of Shrewsbury; Sandy and husband Rob Ubriaco of Hazlet; Siblings, Edgar, Kathleen, Arvilla, Clarence, Mary, Joseph, Joanne, Patrick, Bill; and cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Brianna, Johnny, Tyler, Chelsea, Megan, Abigail, Lauren, Robert, and Olivia.  George will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited Tuesday, October 6, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735, with a Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedicts RC Church, 165 Bethany Rd, Holmdel.
