Frederick H. Schmidt, IV

Frederick H. Schmidt, IV, 52, a long-time resident of Laurence Harbor, NJ, passed away, July 18, 2017, at home.  Born in Red Bank, NJ, Frederick was an HVAC Sub-Contractor in the Monmouth and Ocean County areas for many years.  A man of many hobbies and interests, Fred loved fishing, photography, model building, archeology, playing guitar, cooking creatively and his doggies. Fred was well-loved and cherished. There was a beautiful way about Fred that was appreciated by his family and friends. He was a friend to All and lived his life with a great willingness to help anyone in need. His compassion and caring were unmistakable.  Our wonderful son, father, brother and friend will be forever held gently and lovingly in all of our hearts.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Longstreet of Whiting, NJ, his Mother, Kathleen (Butler) Tomaszek of Dover, NJ and he is pre-deceased by his Step-Father, Paul J. Tomaszek of Dover, NJ.  He is also survived by his Father, Frederick Schmidt III, Step -Mother Nadja of Freehold, NJ, sister, Roxanne LaRusso and brother-in-law Michael of Jackson, NJ, brother, Walter Schmidt and sister-in-law Diane, of North Carolina and a dear Grandson, Logan Longstreet of Brick, NJ.  Frederick also leaves behind a dear nephew and niece, Christopher and Amanda LaRusso as well as loving Aunt, Maryellen Butler, and loving friend, Denise Garfinkle.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 2-4PM & 6-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Thursday, July 27,2017, 8:15AM at the funeral home, with a 9AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.   Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Randolph.  You may post a condolence to the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, through the website www.dayfuneralhome.com.
