Eugene Anthony Podesta

Eugene Anthony Podesta, 77, of Cliffwood Beach/Old Bridge Township, passed away, Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  He was born in Jersey City.  For over 27 years, he worked as a laborer with the Union City Public Works Department, retiring in 1998.  He loved flea markets and enjoyed being a vendor in the Matawan and Keyport areas.

Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Cecelia (Colandino) Podesta.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Michele (Bonelli) Podesta; a son, Vincent Podesta of Union City; three sisters, Mary Lyons of N. Bergen; Arlene Risdel and Roseann Pett, both of Jersey City; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in North Jersey; two nephews, Bobby and Michael Baratta, both of Cliffwood Beach; and two great nephews, Gavin and Garett Baratta.  Eugene will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
