Emilia (DePedrini) Swords, 102, of Matawan, passed away, Monday, February 16, 2015, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York, she resided in Fort Lee and Leonia before moving to Matawan 22 years ago. She grew up in Fort Lee during the movie industry boom, where she worked in her father’s restaurant and was side by side with many actors and musicians. She was also a communicant with St. Clement RC Church, Matawan.
Emilia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis Swords; and her parents. She is survived by her loving son, Thomas Swords and his wife Marilyn of Matawan; two cherished grandsons, Thomas R. Swords and Christopher J. Swords; and four great grandchildren, Colin, Jake, Ryan and Jackson. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Emilia was privately cremated. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2015, 11AM, at St. Clement RC Church, Rt. 79, Matawan. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, was entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
