Edward Leonard Sr.

Edward Leonard Sr., 83, of Keyport, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Monroeville, PA, Edward later moved to Union Beach, then Keyport, where he currently resided. For 45 years, he worked as a mechanic with National Elevator Company, Local 1, in New York, retiring in 1994.

Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Hayes; three brothers, Joseph, Martin and Carl; a sister, Elizabeth Mrdjenovich; and a daughter in law Mary. He is survived by his loving children, RosemaryRinkowski and husband Philip of East Stroudsburg, PA;, Edward Leonard and partner Maritza Lopez of Manalapan; James Leonard of West Jordan, Utah; and David Leonard and wife Angela of Tinton Falls; six cherished grandchildren; Dawn Pollard; Rosemary Cook and husband Warren of Melville, NY; Michelle Smith and husband Montgomery of Matawan; Mary Rodriguez and husband Oscar of Middletown; JeffreyRinkowski of Matawan, NJ; and Erin McDonald and husband Eric of Old Bridge; ten adored great grandchildren; dear sisters; Mary Alma Sullivan of Lockport, NY; Alice Ruth Bacco and husband James of North Huntingdon, PA; Rose Uchnar and husband Mike of Pittsburgh, PA; Isabelle LaRue of Pittsburgh, PA; and TheresaRawson of Clarion, PA; and a brother, Clair Leonard and wife, Marianne of Hazlet; numerous nieces and nephews. Edward will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited Thursday, January 24, 2013, 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Friday, January 25, 2013, 9AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Cremation will be private.
