Charles “Charlie” Waugh, 73, of Hazlet, passed away Saturday August 20, 2016 at home.
He was born in Jersey City and would relocate to Hazlet where he has lived for several years.
Charles served his country in the Army National Guard during peacetime.
“Charlie”, as he was affectionately known was a Giants fan, loved fishing, solving crossword puzzles and following his grandsons in football and jiu-jitsu.
Charles was a long-time employee as a telecommunications technician for AT & T of Newark, before retiring in 1999. After he retired, Charles worked for Stop and Shop of Hazlet for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents Raymond Waugh and Marie (McCabe) Waugh.
Charles was survived by his loving wife Lucille (Pitaresi) Waugh; two sons Charles Jr. of Georgia and Steven and his wife Kellie also of Georgia; and a daughter Jennifer Aleo of Hazlet.
He is also survived by three loving siblings John “Jack” Waugh and his wife Roberta of Hazlet; Raymond Waugh and his wife Cathy of Long Valley; and Mary Boyle and her husband Richard of Belmar.
Charles also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren Nicholas Waugh and Alycia and Vito Aleo.
A visitation will be held for Charles on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM, and on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, 9:45AM at the funeral home, with a 10:30AM Mass at St Joseph RC Church, Keyport.
